Hi All,

I have tried upgrading the Java on an Open Suse 11.4 and Red Hat Enterprise
5.6, the rpm installs fine but am failing to permanently set the PATH
variable here as well, can't quite figure out what am doing wrong, issuing
the commands,

# JRE_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.7.0_02/bin/java
# export PATH=$JRE_HOME/bin:$PATH

Temproarirly sets the environment variable and "which java" and "Java
-version" point to the right folder and version respectively but on logging
out of the shell, I lose the settings.

Would appreciate being set straight.

Cheers
