Pro tip: Whenever I had to use Windows for some reason, I found the connection software to be little more than unnecessary bloat. The modem creates a virtual serial port, so it is perfectly possible to install it as you would a regular land line modem.

Can you hit me up on [email protected] or better yet send me a chat request so that we can talk through this? "Have you tried turning it off and on?" Do you see it as a cdrom drive when you plug it in? Sometimes win7 and most antivirus software disable autorun. Also I have found that existence of an installation of any other Huawei modem will interfere with the installation of the software of another. for example, you cannot install the custom utl software when the software from orange is still installed because the autorun commands interfere with each other. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Baluku Godfrey Sent: 22 January 2012 09:48 To: Uganda Linux User Group Subject: [LUG] MTN MODEM e156g hello lug, i know most us dual boot our machines. i want first appologise because this question may not be relevant to this user group. i`ve got a modem e156g. it works perfectly with LINUX, MAC OS, WIN XP but when i connect it to a WIN 7 machine, it is not recognised. i've searched the internet, i`ve not got a solution. advise me, i need to make it work on win 7. thanks On 1/20/12, sanga collins <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi Lugs, > > I come to you for recommendations on Open source inventory and > shipping applications.
