1893 Linux users. I wish this was 1893 computer (Linux, mac, windows and Unix) users. With the little statistics I know, the data below tells me that Linux users are more likely to use Linux more with some (21.7% weirdos) who will buck the trend and increase on the windows servers. I can understand how guys with windows desktops would want to increase the number of Linux servers but the reverse is rather counter intuitive. I would love to know which windows server products can keep a Linux user community using any windows server software.
My $0.02 From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Brian Ssennoga Sent: 09 February 2012 16:41 To: Uganda Linux User Group Subject: [LUG] Fwd:Survey: 80% Linux-using enterprises will increase Linux use LUG, Almost 80% of enterprises that use Linux will be increasing their use of Linux over the next five years, and 84% of them increased their Linux use in the past year, despite the economic climate. More of these companies will be reducing the number of Windows servers they use (25.9%) than increasing them (21.7%) too. These figures are among the results from the Linux Foundation's <http://linuxfoundation.org/> Linux Adoption Trends 2012 Enterprise End User survey, which measured the responses of 1893 Linux users; the results of the survey focus on the 428 respondents from organisations with over 500 employees or sales greater than half a billion dollars.
