Hm. I happen to have a Sony VAIO. But I chose it in a "blind test" where I went to a computer store, booted all floor models into a GNU/Linux distribution I always carry around on a USB stick, and collected the hardware information. Believe it or not, the VAIO hardware had the best support under Linux of all the computers in the store :(
