CentOS essentially is the same as RHEL but without the RedHat logos. You also can not get offical RedHat support for CentOS, but in all other aspects it responds as RHEL. So if an application is listed as requiring RHEL it should work under CentOS. The difference being you also don't need to pay anyone for CentOS where are RHEL is licensed.
Fedora is there community edition think of it as Redhat Desktop.
