Hi there Any Lustre users using external journals on Lustre releases 1.4.12 and all 1.6.x releases since 1.6.1 should be aware of bug 18018.
This bug can result in the journal device entering read only mode after an umount then remount. A normal mount on boot will not be affected There is a patch applied to the bug and this fix will be in both 1.6.7 (which is in release testing atm) and 1.8.0.
