Hi Lee, Lustre users -

A few weeks ago you sent me these graphs and we have set our mind on finally
resolving the mysteries surrounding sriping.

We have many confusing situations.

Recently I claimed that a prime striping count could aid in avoiding
accidental overload of OST's. You sent me two graphs, that are interesting.

 1. It seems that for writing the prime number (7) is definitely helping -
the bandwidth is much higher.
 => There are some unexplained dips - which I'd like to understand.

 2. Reading is worse, much worse with 7 than with 8.
=> Why is reading worse?

We are not seeing this everywhere, and I am sending this message to provoke
sufficient response from the community to hopefully lead to some
understanding.

If other people have similar graphs, we would love to see these here and get
the open think tank going.

Thanks.
