Yesterday I was talking with a large cluster manager running with
Voltaire IB. There were indications that the network could not handle
more than about 3,000 connections simultaneously in edge switches
(switches which connect switches).
I wanted you to be aware of this and also ask that the LNET smoke test
which is under development tries to establish as many pairs as it
reasonably can to detect these kind of problems early one.
