Dear all,
the MIM in Brussels confirmed that many years ago Sonja Leggewie made
drawings of the Allard, but they do not have them anymore. There also
some old x rays at the MIM. Does anyone know how I can reach S.
   Leggewie?
I have also been wondering if the famous Warwick Frei may not have been
made for the French court by Frei (the elder or the younger?), then
have been converted into a baroque lute by a French builder of the 17th
   c. and have been brought to England by one of the French lutenists who
visited England. The fleurs-des-lys in the rose could support the
hypothesis that it may have been made for the French court in the16th
   c..
Can anyone tell me where I can get beautifully patterned quilted maple
or Carapa guianensis for reasonable prices?
   Thanks!
   CD
