Dear friends and colleagues,

Our Lutenet's resident vocalist Jessica Gould has permitted herself
inexcusable modesty and omitted herself from the announcement I forwarded
previously. So it should have read like this:

.........................
Saturday, March 12
8:00PM

The New York Early Music Series
Sacri e Divoti Affetti
Jessica Gould, soprano, with Jennifer Lane, mezzo-soprano
Grant Herreid, lute
John Mark Rozendaal, cello
Borys Medicky, harpsichord

Works to include selection from Strozzi's "I Sacri Musicali Affetti" (Opus
5,
1655, Venice) and the recently discovered "Canto Divoti Affetti" by Giovanni
Alberto Ristori (1692-1753).

Selections from I Sacri Musicali Affetti, Barbara Strozzi's only known
volume
of sacred music (Opus 8, 1655). Dedicated to a female patron, Anne
Archduchess of Austria, the majority of the selections, all solo cantatas,
are
dedications to female saints. Also on the program is Giovanni Alberto
Ristori's
recently discovered holy week duet, Canto Divoti Affetti. Having
miraculously
survived the bombing of Dresden, the piece makes its New York premiere
performance in
this concert.

St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 308 West 46th Street.
