With the left hand fingerings also Giesbert tries to apply the 
instructions of the old masters.
If he succeeds wholly I don�t want to judge. There are some incorrect or

incomplete definitions of ornaments for instance.

As sources he uses almost only some of the Rostock mss (under them Ms 
XVII. 18.-52-2 that is published by me for the German lute society at 
the moment) and the Augsburg mss.
Giesbert though had been aware of many (probably most) of the lute 
sources in Austria and elsewhere also. Fl�tzinger mentions that he has 
studied the Kremsm�nster sources.
