You appear to have missed the point. If you want to keep your freedom you must be willing to fight for it, and that tends to obviate peace. Many Germans in the 30's had peace, but at what cost? The Vichy French in WWII had peace, but at what cost? The Finns too had peace during WWII after they won their freedom from the Russians through capitulation with the Nazis. But at what cost?
