Dear Ron, Alain Veylit's Stringwalker software will do any amount of transposition you want. It will transpose pitch and/or tablature, turn into staff notation, switch from one tablature to another, and let you manipulate the music in all kinds of ways, just with the click of a mouse. I assume his updated version, Django, will perform the same functions.
Francesco Tribioli's Fronimo is less flexible in this regard, but has the advantage of offering scores and the ability to have staff notation and tablature at the same time. It is possible to send files back and forth between the two programmes, to create MIDI files, tab files, etc. There are little glitches with both programmes, but together they are a formidable tool for any lutenist, and I would recommend buying them both. Best wishes, Stewart McCoy. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ron Fletcher" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "lute@cs.dartmouth.edu" <Lute@cs.dartmouth.edu> Sent: Monday, July 25, 2005 8:09 AM Subject: FW: Byrd > Tablature for me is the best solution for playing the lute.
