Hi,

this 1st pavan has quite interesting fingering and is IMO very idiomatic.
Both the hinged barré, which occurs several times and the (hard) chord you
pionted out. IMO there is only one logical way to play it. Barré on first
fret, 5th = f1, 4th = d4. You have to keep 3rd for the following d5. This
short pavan is very good practise for stretching and bending the RH, as well
as precision technique for the runs, be it thumb in (HIP), thumb out or
dedillo. A fine example of Renaissance fingering in the intermediate
bracket.
