Is there a place > where these omissions are > listed, or is somebody working on an updated Brown? I suggested the possibility to the Press, but they were uninterested. Experienced publishers know when it would be unprofitable to reprint a volume, even a revised volume. I've been collecting corrections and additions for many years. Howard didn't miss much. I can think of only one print he should have listed (a lost Vicentino printof madrigal intabulations listed in a page of Vicentino prints; Howard had all the other ones on the page). The other omissions are works he could not have known about, e.g., the Sulzbach Francesco tablatures. Incidentally, all the prints listed in the index to libraries under D:Bds as (L) for "lost" survive in Cracow. I guess I should start on my web page. > For us it would be good to include lute prints after > 1600, and if possible manuscripts ...
