Hi sorry
 but I find L'argeggiata to be hugely overated and the hammered dulcimer  thing 
is just pure kitsch.
 
I don't think you quite understand my viewpoint, I think that it is possible to 
reach a larger audience, without the following modernisms.....
 
adding modern instruments such as Clarinet, Saxaphone etc.....
adding percussion to liven thing up, even through their is little evidence that 
percussion was used in renaissance chamber music
and many more tricks such as one orchestra on the south bank having a failed 
pop star girls introduce their concerts or giving young listeners a free beer.
 
These are all acts of desperation.
