Dennis, I have a recording by Sollscher in which he plays the D maj Passagaille as the first piece. It is not a Ciacona, but similar indeed to a Ciacona that has been recorded by Jose Moreno (I think it is E flat maj). Moreno plays a beautiful recording of the D Maj Passagaille as well - as part of another suite. The tablature for the Passagaille can be found in the London manuscript as the last piece of suite XIII. Try Jean-Daniel Forget's absolutely excellent web site: http://perso.orange.fr/jdf.luth/Musiques/Les%20compositeurs/Sylvius%20Leopold%20Weiss/Weiss%20Londres.htm you can also search the www.slweiss.com site for references. I hope this helps you. Rob Parisien [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I know there are many, and the one I'm looking for I discovered on a Goran Sollscher CD arranged for his "alto" 11 string guitar. It starts out slow and stately then goes into many variations. I'm hoping to get a copy of the original from one of the lute web sites. Thanks for any help.
