odd you should say that as i'm on the case for
anything classic - contemporary or other wise - that's
been written for - or adaptable to - the charango. 
contemporary music for the lute might present problems
as the instrument is largely considered to be a period
instrument, associated almost exclusively with the
early music repertoire.

i think it has a special dynamic; calm, reflective,
very low-key - don't know if those qualities carry
much truck with melodophobic bang contemporary crash
classic wallop composers.
