Join some of the world's finest musicians in the field of baroque
performance for this 14-day training programme in instrumental and vocal
performance practice. Classes are offered in strings (violin, viola, viola
d'amore, cello and bass), woodwinds (flute, oboe and bassoon), harpsichord,
lute, guitar and voice.  The Institute also offers a programme for
conductors and directors. For advanced students, pre-professional, and
professional musicians.

 

Faculty for TBSI includes Tafelmusik's Music Director Jeanne Lamon,
Tafelmusik Chamber Choir Director Ivars Taurins, TBSI Artistic Director
Charlotte Nediger, members of the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and Chamber
Choir, vocalists Ann Monoyios and Rufus Muller, and Co-Artistic Directors of
Opera Atelier, Marshall Pynkoski and Jeanne Zingg.

 

Advanced students, pre-professional and professional musicians are invited
to apply by March 20, 2008.

 

The Institute offers:

*       Orchestra and choir rehearsals led by Jeanne Lamon, Ivars Taurins
and faculty
*       Masterclasses for solo instrument and voice
*       Instrumental and vocal chamber ensembles
*       Private lessons by Tafelmusik musicians
*       Lectures/workshops on baroque music, theatre and art
*       Baroque opera workshops led by Marshall Pynkoski of Opera Atelier
*       Baroque dance workshops led by Jeannette Zingg of Opera Atelier
*       Participant performances including a Grand Finale concert with
Tafelmusik
*       Performances by the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and Chamber Choir

 

As well, as Tafelmusik is the baroque orchestra-in-residence at the Faculty
of Music, University of Toronto, the university offers credit for completion
