Dear All: A well-known luthier once told me an effective way to remove a stuck peg without damaging it: Take a short length of wooden dowel (1 inch or 2 cm) that is slightly smaller in diameter than the small end of the stuck peg. Then take a small mallet or hammer and gently tap-tap-tap until it pops loose. Do not use pliers or vise-grips! Cheers, Jim
