Dear lutenists,
Christmas is coming...
I arranged 3 very popular carols to 10-course lute.
These Christmas carols are very popular in Finland. I have learned them
already in an early age, and all my arrangements are based on the
Finnish versions, although all these pieces have models in common
European songs. Some might have been modified more or less, when adapted
to Finnish.
These arrangements are made to the 10-course lute. Of course also an
archlute works well, and some can easily be adopted also to a lute with
lesser number courses.
* Maa on niin kaunis (related to "Schönster Herr Jesu")
* Heinillä härkien kaukalon (related to "Entre le boeuf et l'âne gris")
* Kuului laulu enkelten (related to "Gloria in excelsis deo")
The arrangements and links to YouTube and Vimeo are in page

Now there is still time to practice these before the Christmas! :-)
All the best,
Arto
Thank you very much for posting these videos. I didn't recognize the
second piece of the three, but the first I know as Beautiful Savior
and the third as Angels We Have Heard on High.
Much appreciated, Arto.
