It's a good book to own as you can use it as a reference book. It has many quotes from period sources, arranged in chapters on the different topics you might be interested in. Handy. You do not learn how to play beautifully, or even - dare I say it - HIP from a book like this, of course. For a better taste of the time and its music you might want to read something like Quantz cover to cover. Less answers but more flavour, so to speak.
