"The lion in the lute" is a striking image from Wallace Stevens' poem
   The Blue Guitar, inspired by Picasso, and the inspiration for Michael
   Tippett's sonata The Blue Guitar for solo guitar.  I don't think the
   sonata would quite work on lute, though....
   P
