On my 8-course lute (58,5 cm) I have a Pyramid sixth bass with octave and a o,9 mm Carbon fifth with octave. To my ears the wound Pyramid sounds after a 3 year´s use not too different from the blank fifth. It is not sharp at all. Yet, there is some fretting problem.

Regards
Karl

And just how old are your Pyramids? (Pharonic strings, which dynasty?)

I don't know about David, but I have some Pyramid wound strings that
have been on my instruments for nearly that long. After ten or
fifteen years, they stop being too bright or ringing too long.
