MAKE magazine has a short video introducing a luthier from Brooklyn, Jason Petty:
http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2008/08/jason_petty_lute_maker.html For those of us who wondered what the technical drawings from a museum like KHM would look like, at 4:45 in the video he shows the drawing of a Hans Frei (C34, SAM 30) on his wall. It looks like this particular drawing has only 3 cross-sections, plus possibly two of the neck, in addition to the longitudinal section... but the rest of the detail looks great. It's a Gerhard Sohne (add umlauts where applicable) drawing from 1979. Someone asked a while back how to get drawings from KHM; I found current pricing, availability, and contact info here: http://theatermuseum.at/system2E.html?/staticE/page3091.html Cheers, - M To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html
