As far as I know, you can use up to 14 courses, as you can see in:
http://www.lautengesellschaft.de/cdmm/userguide/node8.html#SECTION00088000000000000000
It's about tablature fonts:
68-71 (ASCII 'D'-'G') Numbers '4'-'7' for the french habit of numbering
bourdons
72-78 (ASCII 'H'-'N') Numbers '8'-'14' for the italian habit of
numbering bourdons
So you have 14 courses for french and italian tab.
You can try to input these numbers with {10}, {14}.
It seems as if {15} doesn't work.
Best regards

Am I right in thinking you are asking about notating diapasons in
Abctab2ps? It's a while since I used that system, but it's
true that the user guide doesn't refer to any more than 10 courses.
From a quick attempt to edit the Kapsberger piece in the examples
that come with the program I can't get it to go past 10. But there
should still be Abctab2ps gurus on the list who know the definitive
answer......
Best wishes,

Exactly! You seem to be the only person replying who noticed my subject line.
And thanks for the experiment.
