I went to a concert by Segovia in Edinburgh many years ago when he was 90 something. My wife, who has two cloth ears, kept asking me if the music was supposed to be played that way. Why couldn't anyone stop him performing at that age? The audience were all delighted with the performance. I wanted to leave after the first few pieces but I was sitting in the middle of a row and thought it would be too dangerous.
