Perhaps that's one reason why most of the best software that I use was written by programmers who are also users of said software, i.e., they're writing in part for themselves and their friends/colleagues, who don't have a high tolerance for bugs. Then some of the feedback comes from direct experience rather than only from reports by users who are not involved in development.
