Hi, I have an UM3 setup using High Capacity High Availability and Load Balancing with BGP failover between two routers complicating the setup. In total I've got 4 different networks, 2x /28 networks not on BGP for the physical servers, and a /25 network and a /26 network covered under the BGP failover. When the primary router is active LVS is in place using a pair of directors using heartbeat between each other (and when it's not the servers under the secondary router activate Ethernet device IP aliasing (eg. eth0:0, eth0:1, etc) and drop their LVS setup).
So up until now we've had the LVS directors sit on the /25 network, but they need to be moved to the /28 network under the same router to communicate with the servers under the other router. The LVS directors have been covering both of the two now BGP'd networks (the /25 and /26) configured under Direct Routing fine until this point. Last night I attempted to move the LVS director from the /25 network to the /28 under that router and while the director could see the servers as being up and running, no actual traffic was getting through to them. Initially the directors could not see any services up and running so I reverted the configuration back to the known working one. Then after looking though the config on the directors again I attempted it once more and restarted services on the real servers which is when the directors could see the services being up, but no traffic was being returned. So after about half an hour (waiting for some arp traffic) I switched the IP/gateway/broadcast/netmask/network config back again and am using the original configuration. Looking through the configuration notes for UltraMonkey, the only noticeable thing which I missed for sure last night at 2am is that I hadn't change the DNS IP configuration for the servers neither under our DNS or the /etc/hosts file. I'm looking through Joseph's HOWTO and Mini-HOWTO for hints at the moment but if anyone has a hammer to whack me on the head with that'd be great. ___________________________________________________ Dan Brown [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ LinuxVirtualServer.org mailing list - [email protected] Send requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or go to http://lists.graemef.net/mailman/listinfo/lvs-users
