Hello Mike, and others, > Have you attempted running a Fedora container on an Ubuntu host running > on raw iron? If not, you need to do so and report those results. Thanks for this suggestion, of course that makes sense.
I tested it now on my desktop PC (Ubuntu 12.04). First I still had a special kernel for TuxOnIce, so I uninstalled that. uname -a shows now: Linux timotheus-linuxpc 3.2.0-61-generic #93-Ubuntu SMP Fri May 2 21:33:33 UTC 2014 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux lxc-create -t fedora -n myFedoraTest2 lxc-start -n myFedoraTest2 <27>systemd[1]: Failed to set the kernel's timezone, ignoring: Operation not permitted <30>systemd[1]: systemd 208 running in system mode. (+PAM +LIBWRAP +AUDIT +SELINUX +IMA +SYSVINIT +LIBCRYPTSETUP +GCRYPT +ACL +XZ) <30>systemd[1]: Detected virtualization 'lxc'. Welcome to Fedora 20 (Heisenbug)! <27>systemd[1]: Failed to insert module 'autofs4' <30>systemd[1]: Set hostname to <myFedoraTest2>. <30>systemd[1]: Initializing machine ID from random generator. <28>systemd[1]: No control group support available, not creating root group. <30>systemd[1]: Starting Forward Password Requests to Wall Directory Watch. <30>systemd[1]: Started Forward Password Requests to Wall Directory Watch. <30>systemd[1]: Starting Remote File Systems. By the way, lxc-create -t download -n myFedoraTest -- -d fedora -r 20 -a i386 also had the same result. I then tried to install Fedora 19 on my local machine: lxc-create -t download -n myFedoraTest3 -- -d fedora -r 19 -a i386 lxc-start -n myFedoraTest3 That worked fine, I was able to login and change my password. Thanks for any suggestions, Timotheus _______________________________________________ lxc-users mailing list lxc-users@lists.linuxcontainers.org http://lists.linuxcontainers.org/listinfo/lxc-users
