well, your template is messed up. Of course debian mirror wouldn't
know anything about ubuntu precise.

If you haven't done so, try updated lxc from rawhide (which, among
others, should give you up-to-date "ubuntu" template as well as
"download" template) . And THEN after that, use the "download"
template (lxc-create -t download ...). It'd be MUCH faster.
