With the GM of Red Hat's Integrated Solutions points out the weakness in Docker's application repo model in regards to security patches being by-passed as time goes on. His statements also imply in a way (at least I read it that way) that OS containers at least give you the ability to apply security patches even if the original image author hasn't updated that image himself.
