mmm... I will try to answer your question :)

When the idea was conceived Incedit I had a choice between C and
python. I chose python for several reasons: I chose python for several
reasons: С beautiful language but it seems to me that he is better
suited for a more low-level things like drivers, system utilities,
etc. In Second graphics applications in python is much easier to write
and I speak from personal experience, and work with text, lists and
other data structures much easier in python and not need extra
biblotek. So I tried to open large files, and no difference between
gedit and Incedit anyway. If so will this need can be slow to rewrite
parts of the С. It does not take much hard work for me, because i'm
programming in python and in C/C++.

Now about compatibility. I personally know little of developers who
switched to python 3.X and, moreover, if the project becomes popular,
I think we will not be difficult to make a port of project in python
3.X.
