Hi Mario,

Yes, you were the person I had in mind, but I didn't want to name
names. ;)

But it is extremely unlikely that people will use the same tags if they
are "lxmusic 0.4.3". Even if, this tag will only have a very few posts,
so it will never appear in a tag cloud. It's not even in out tag cloud.

Sure, but I think we already should appear there anyway.

Where is this option? Can you give me the URL so I can play around with
it a little?

I was referring to the wiki category LXDE, not to the LXDE tag in the
wiki. The category in the blog is useless and causes one more page with
inaccurate or outdated information.

ATM only 71 of 108 blog posts are tagged LXDE. If we really want to have
*everything* tagged LXDE we should do this in the blog template, so the
tag gets applied automatically.

On the other hand we have 407 tags in total which is just too much I
think. It distracts people and the search bots from the real content.
People coming from search engines will land on the tag page
http://blog.lxde.org/?tag=lxmusix-0-4-3 instead of the article
http://blog.lxde.org/?p=631 itself.

If we really want to optimize the blog for search engines, we should use
URL rewriting to get nice looking URLs like
http://blog.lxde.org/lxmusic-0-4-3-released
However this requires mod_rewrite on the server and it doesn't seem to
be available or at least active.

Technorati automatically converts categories of wordpress etc. to tags.
As long as I haven't played around with Technorati's tag search I can
only make guess, but I think we should be in there anyway.

Please drop me the URL of it.
