How's systemd working out for you? I like the concept, but I'm having trouble googling up end-user commentary on it.
...and I'm wary of anything lennartp produces, given that he brought us PulseAudio, lies to our faces that it's now reliable, and indirectly orchestrated this mess on my system: 1. PulseAudio has become so ubiquitous in distros that apps are starting to require it directly for audio output. 2. It's still so buggy that I have to uninstall it to keep it from unpredictably pegging one of my 3.2Ghz CPU cores every now and then. 3. I have to run the Windows versious of various cross-platform apps and games to get audio. (64-bit NightSkyHD exits if it can't connect to a PulseAudio server. 32-bit NightSkyHD segfaults.) 4. ALSA+dmix stopped giving me crackling and other problems at least two years before lennartp even started work on pulseaudio. 5. My 2Ghz Celeron "in case of emergency" machine is significantly more performant with dmix than with pulseaudio.
