Nah I'm doing the same, just on Unix.

Well, for Unix it's
#XLOADIMAGE_COMMAND:xloadimage %s &
in /etc/lynx.cfg

So I suppose it's similar for Windows.

You might try

XLOADIMAGE_COMMAND:c:\winnt\system32\cmd /c %s

I can't check though, no windows ATM :)
