I do not think the limit is the problem.
I think the site does not want text browser like Lynx to connect in fear of automating and downloading lots of info with
relative ease whereas with the graphical browser, the info has to be downloaded one by one manually.

not without modifying lynx (the limit is not configurable).
I'll look/see if making it configurable makes sense for this site.
