As expressed, the nursing home story is accessed by choosing the link that
says for example 37 comments. That link takes you to the story itself.
Does that make sense?

Hi Karen-
Thank you for the suggestion but it doesn't really solve my problem.
Just as an example, right now going to www.nytimes.com there is a story
headlined "Guantanamo Bay As Nursing Home: Terrorism Suspects Are Aging".
There is no link there to access the story and no link for several stories
that follow. The next link which is accessible is one regarding Trump pulling
out of an arms treay during a speech.

Hi there,
May I make a suggestion?
consider visiting
mobile.nytimes.com
Instead.
what is happening is that at the very top of the layout in lynx, the
browser is getting a couple of links out of the way.
They are showcasing the new brief , but on the page there are still all of
the active links, at the top and at the bottom.
When you are accessing stories though, you will note a link that says
something like 152 comments etc.
if you examine the status line however you will find that link takes you
to the full story.
Goal here is to allow more actual text for low graphics reading.
Granted I am unsure what you do on the times site. However you may find
the mobile site more efficient.
sing out if you have more questions.
