lynx-dev non-mailcap -source option?

I'm trying to  download URLs with -source, and for certain files
it will apply certain mailcap optinos, e.g.

        lynx -source ftp://......../file.tar.gz

it will gunzip the file.tar.gz file, presumably from my local mailcap
entry.

How can one prevent this, I want the true .gz file.
