Heh, I tried to make the code EBCDIC-compatible without any testing.
No surprise something was not quite right...
Mare interesting would be whether it *works* right after you have corrected
the obvious errors. (Does the statusline show right keys for textarea
editing while in a textarea, for the various ways to configure them?
Do the "Bash_like" editing keys work?)
