The attached refers to problems with Lynx mirrors not connecting to the master site at lynx.isc.org. There were discussions on the lynx-dev list a while ago concerning wuftpd. I don't recall seeing if lynx-current has fixes for the wuftpd behavioural changes. ------ <http://www.cs.indiana.edu/picons/db/users/us/md/lib/bcpl/jspath/face.xbm> <http://www.altavista.com/cgi-bin/query?q=%22web+home+for+jim+spath%22> Marvin the Paranoid Android says: Depressed? Don't talk to me about being depressed.
I finally found it; http://www.wu-ftpd.org/broken-clients.html "One of the changes in 2.6.0 improves the daemon's implementation of the RFCs. Specifically, the daemon now requires the remote client to honor a close before the it will send a reply on the control channel. In most cases, this has no effect on the FTP session. Experience during testing showed this change causes problems for a small number of clients." This list included Lynx & mirror. I have gone ahead and recompiled wu-ftpd with "support" for these "broken clients" on the server that serves lynx.isc.org, so you shouldn't have a problem now. (Additionally, there is a patch for mirror v2.9 that takes care of it on their end, it's available via the link above) Best Wishes - Peter ___________________________________________________________________________ Peter Losher | System Administrator | Internet Engines, Inc.
