What I like to do is to set screen "wide" while browsing, generally.
But when I Print something out to a file, I like to do it "78 cols" wide.
So, I have two aliases (csh), wide and nowide.
So, before I Print, I ^Z and "nowide" and fg and either ^R or
go to the page to be printed, and then Print.
Then, assuming I remember to do it, I again ^z, do a "wide",
fg, and go back to prior page (of links) to choose next thing
to print. THIS screen was set-up while "wide" was on.

Some sites, eg sunworld, have on most article pages, a link
titled "printer-friendly version (whole thing)".
So, you want to get to the first screenful of the desired
article, then search for that "friendly" screen, get TO
that [link], THEN ^Z, nowide, fg, "click" on that link,
and you get the whole article (including continuation-linked
subpart2, subpart3, ...).
TROUBLE IS: doing the SEARCH redoes the pagesize -- a DWIM (do what
I mean) that is NOT what most anyone would want -- given that
we have ^R (well, that does require new download).
It would be FAR better if we had a command that ONLY reformatted
the doc.
