There is a minor problem with the news-posting mechanism of LYNews.c. Other news readers include a line with the GMT time of the post. They consult the TZ environment variable to construct this line. lynx does not. What appears to happen as a result is that the nntp news server adds a GMT posting time line to the posted article, but then places that article into the list of articles a day or so earlier than articles that already contain the date. Whether this is some mischief of news administrators against posters who use lynx or post from other news readers without the TZ environment variable set, I do not know.
