I believe that you can order from Amazon via WAP, but I'm not certain.

WML is a subset of sgml and is well documented, any web server can
server wml pages it just requires adding about 6 new mimetypes. The
new technology with the heavily licensed stuff is the WAP gateway,
which is a form of proxy. There is however a beta freeware version of
this.

The wapgateway requests the wml pages and compresses them into a
binary format for transmission to the WAP enabled device. But this
doesn't have to be done.
