Hi Folks, I've just joined your list, and I would like to introduce myself by way of a question if I may. I have been using the lynx kit downloaded from Rene Ludwic's website. It is for the most part, a great package, and I in fact, learned most of what I know about lynx from this package. Just this week, I downloaed a package called dlnx-e03, and have tried to use it. However, I am unable to establish an effective ppp connection. I get the following error message, or some such variation thereof. "Termin: no packet driver at that address" I am repeatedly given to understand that something is probably wrong in the "dialnet.scr" file. However, I can't for the life of me ascertain what the trouble might be. I use dos-ppp type programs such as nettamer and the heretofore mentioned lynx kit from Ludwic's site, and I've experienced no problems at all. After reading such files as netdial.std and readdlnx.doc, I find myself still in the dark as to the nature of the problem. Admittedly, I have limited experience with PPP dialup programs, and I've much to learn, if I am to remain a staunch dos user. I find the following passage from netdial.scr to be most perplexing, because it doesn't seem to be specific as to what lines need to be despenced with. I have never encountered this type of situation with nettamer or the other version of lynx, so this leads me to believe that nothing is required after my user name and password are sent, but I of course could be wrong. Any help with this matter would be highly appreciated. Ray Beginning of passage "name:" send "rayj-ppp\r" recv 60000 "sword:" send "password\r" recv 6000 ":" # See NOTE 1.. here selection: or choice: , both end in : send "2\r" # See NOTE 1 In my case this selects option ppp recv 60000 "}" # this "}" identifies ppp as having started on server # NOTE 1: Remove the send 2/r and recv 6000 lines if your server does not need #any furthur input after password and automatically starts ppp. You can tell #this is happening when the screen fills with gibberish or many } symbols. # Change these two lines if your server requires something different. # A site worth visiting. <a href="http://www.faerytruth.homepage.com/"> My Site <a href="http://www.america.net/~rayj"> Goddess grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.
