Yes, it seems that my translation may have been what exacerbated the
problem, and that is why 'the programmers' found it hard to lend an
ear to my complaints that a "period was being appended" (not just
"general sounds of unhappiness"). Specifically, possibly at about the
time I began to notice the problem, I changed some msgstr's that
originally ended in "." or ". " to "。" (Japanese period). This means
that a number of strings that used to end in ascii characters were
changed to multibyte characters. I have no idea where to go from there,
but I do apologize for having created bad feelings.
