Yes, you are right. I was talking about Slang with Japanized patch and not with SLANG_HAS_KANJI_SUPPORT. As I am a Debian user and Debian provides us slang1-ja package (Slang with Japanized patch!) so I simply considered it as Slang with Japanese support and was confused. And, yes, the problem was with Slang with Japanized patch. (Sorry but I do not remember the precise version of Slang, however I guess perhaps 1.2.1 or 1.2.2) > > Okay then I would like to ask one more question. > > > > Lynx 2.8.4 compiled with Slang of non Japanese support version > > displays wrong Japanese characters (message catalogue?) when > > one try to "download file" like > > > > 灰泪鵐 [矢印キー] 移動、[?] ヘルプ、[q] >終了、[←] 戻る > > > > but after ^L it displays correctly; > > > > コマンド: [矢印キー] 移動、[?] ヘルプ、[q] >終了、[←] 戻る > > It seems I have to make Lynx with Native Language Support first.
