I was thinking in terms of number of files changed (dev.8 is medium
on that scale - discounting the configure script that's only 800 lines
add+delete, 37 files changed).  Most of the files touched were for
wrapping the fclose's.  dev.5 (which changes a lot more lines) still
only touches 54 files.
