I have the sh-utils-2.0.15-4 package installed (I assume you're at least as current). But I don't have cygwin installed on Win98 (just a few Windows2000's). My $CYGWIN variable isn't set globally - in my /etc/profile, I have set it to codepage:oem (couldn't really see why I would want to bother with binmode - though occasionally it's annoying to have ^M's on logfiles). -- Thomas E.
