How can such a strange type cause much more work ? In any case, Could
you please indicate the problem to the rest of us and please remove this
non-sense statement from the code ? You could replace it by a FIXME
indicating what the problem is.

The parameter outer_type is string const & and in some places the function is called with explicit strings.

I do not think Uwe decided not to fix it. Rather he will probably come back to it in Milano.
